About Krysia Lear

A Collaborative Effort
A seasoned editor and writer and a certified proofreader, I collaborate with clients to help them develop clear and convincing messages and to make effective use of their time and resources. I ask insightful questions, provide comprehensive, practical suggestions, and help writers develop their skills.

Clients
Today editing doesn’t have borders, and I’ve worked with clients from Canada, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Chile, Kenya, Tanzania, and Congo.

Education, training, and experience
A life-long learner, I have a bachelor of theology degree, which taught me the rigours of logic and analysis, and a certificate in magazine journalism. I am certified by the Editors’ Association of Canada as a proofreader.

I bring experience as an editor, journalist, magazine editor, and director of communications to the projects I do.

Professional affiliations
A voting member of the Editors' Association of Canada, I am currently past chair of the EAC Certification Steering Committee and have marked certification tests. I have served three terms on the EAC national executive board. In June 2010, I had the honour of being awarded an EAC President's Award for Volunteer Service.

I’m a professional member of The Word Guild and former board member.
